Everything you need to know about our traditional bayas, waist measurements, and policies.

A Baya (or waist bead) is a traditional body ornament from West Africa. It is worn around the hips or waist—privately as an intimate self-love adornment or visibly as a statement accessory. It represents femininity, body awareness, and self-confidence.

Place a soft measuring tape directly on your bare skin at the exact spot where you want the beads to sit (high waist, mid-hip, or low-hip). Keep the tape relaxed and add about 0.5 inches of breathing room so the strand sits comfortably when you sit down.

Yes, our traditional tie-on cotton strands are highly durable and water-friendly. For clasp models crafted with 18k gold filled or sterling silver components, we recommend drying them gently with a soft cloth after exposure to preserve metallic luster.

Ready-to-wear pieces ship in 1–2 business days. Bespoke commissions require 3–5 business days of meticulous hand-threading. Global courier routes via DHL Express and FedEx arrive within 3–7 business days worldwide.

Due to hygiene regulations and the custom-crafted nature of waist beads, all sales are final. We do support a 48-hour delivery guarantee: if a strand arrives damaged or breaks within 48 hours of dispatch, we will replace or repair it free of charge.
